What do you do when you smoke

this might have been a post before but thought i would start this anyways. what does everyone usually do when they smoke. do you normally smoke with other people or do you perfer to be alone and read, or enjoy your smoking area and have a drink. Me personally usually when i play golf ill smoke, and nice to unwind after work on my deck at my apt and play around with my phone or just enjoy the peace and quite, sometimes the neighbors are out and chat with them. Look forward to seeing what everyone else does.

I'm going to try an Ashton VSG Corona Gorda. Had one before but don't remember a whole bunch about it. This has been resting for about 16 months, so I'm looking forward to it.

Bachelor party ideas

I have a buddy getting married next month. He's got too much going on to give him a real bachelor party, but I think we'll be able to get enough guys together to have a good night for him.

I want to bring some sticks for everyone, and initially had the idea to get custom bands made; something to the effect of "*bachelor's* manhood" (it would have his name, but I don't know who's reading this and I don't want to spoil the surprise) with the idea that we were all saying goodbye to his independence and such, but it then occured to me that he could reply with 'you have my manhood in your mouth'. So I canned that idea.

Playing off that same concept, I'm now leaning towards getting a box of the Nub 354 Connie (I think this is the smallest stick Nub makes), while giving him the Maxx 'Ego' to compensate for his loss of manhood.

As I've been thinking about this, I thought I'd throw it out to you BORKs and see if you have any cigar-related ideas for a soon to be groom. Again, it's nothing big. I'm just looking for any way to give him a hard time while enjoying a cigar.

HERF-A-DOR (VERY HANDY)

Recently I discovered how handy a travel humidor could really be. I went on a 3 day canoe trip with my Dad into Algonquin Park in Ontario, Canada. This is backcountry camping where you carry the canoe on your head between the lakes and camp with no luxuries around.

Except for maybe the luxury of the travel humidor. I took my 15 ct because you never know how much time you will have to enjoy a cigar out there and 15 is not unreasonable for a 3 day trip. Obviously the thing functioned perfectly to protect my stoggies through rain, wind and being bumped around in a canoe.

But it also did very well acting as a foot rest around the fire, a cutting board to slice up food, and at one point a support to hold up a flash light for fixing a fishing rod.

I make take this thing everyone, even when I'm not planning to smoke a cigar.

I was out the other day looking at my surroundings and wondered if anyone else has a designated area they generally enjoy their cigars in. It's my little slice of heaven when I have nothing to do and time to relax.

So i just placed my first phone order with Ccom, and I was BLOWN AWAY. I mean, you guys rave about the service all the time, but I didnt expect it to be that awesome! I was on hold listening to sinatra for like 30 seconds, and then Matthew picked up, had my order up already, and processed it in less than a minute. I think my day got better just from calling in. Kudos CCOM!!!

Moving into fall here is Chicagoland. What types of smokes do you enjoy as the weather changes? I tend to move to a more full strength cigar to warm my bones with a nice red wine. And you?

I have never been to a herf, but I always hear people talk about bringing 5 or so sticks. Do you actaully smoke several full cigars while at these events or do you just smoke some of each, like you are tasting cigars?

Ok guys, I know there are more than a few of us here in the Golden State, so it's high time we start thinking about getting a good herf going. Right now, we're looking at the most basic formative stages of this, the first step is figuring out where you all are so we can pick the place that best satisfies the problem of distance.

For starters, post up what city you are in if you live in CA. This is going to be a serious consideration on my part, and the outcome is only as good as the planning that goes into it. So help me out here and get to posting. (Note: the county in which you reside would also be helpful in case I'm not familiar with the city)

If all goes well, maybe we could be looking at a late fall get-together.

Just ordered me some drew estate natural clean robustos should I worry about keeping them in a seperate humi? I know I've seen in the pastpeople say that to keep infused away the normal sticks but is it that important?

Thoughts on candela cigars

I started a little bit of a discussion about candela wrapper cigars on the 'What are you smoking tonight' thread, but i didn't want to completely threadjack it so I wanted to start a new thread to get everyone's thoughts on candelas.

I had my one and only candela last night and really did not care for it. It was a Don Tomas, and I understand that may not have been the best guage of a candela, but either way, it left a pretty nasty, 'vegetable' (for lack of a better word) finish that got more prominent the more I smoked. The 'grassy' flavor that i always hear about was subtle on the palate and i didn't really mind that

So what are everyone else's thoughts/experiences?

Do you like them? If so why, and what in the flavor profile do you like?

Or, do you not like them? If so, what is it about them that you don't like?

I ordered my cab, humi, two finger case and they had a special gifts if you bought items based on a tier cost basis. I earned enough to get all the goodies. I got crap two no name cigars, Not the cohibas 5 pack not the other 3 gift packs. Golf hats and so on. But what pisses me off is I order a nice two finger case and they send me a F#$)'n alligator three finger case that I have to go out and buy a old 78 Caddy just so the case doesnt look out of place. After two months of calling and the phone getting answered once. the person told me the Items were on back order and would be sent to me. That was a month and a half ago. Today after finally getting through because no-one answers the phone I finally get through and the rep tells me I have to send back the old case that I did not order to get my new case that I F#$#'n order on my dime. After a long go around she is willing to send me a shipping label very hesitantly like I'm screwing her over. And as far as my goodies well that promo is over and even though the advertized it for two more months after my purchase and they were out of stock at the time of my purchase I'm *** out of luck and they will not give anything not even a bumper sticker saying bend over. Hurricane Badge

Thats right boys, I just punched my hurricane badge with the remains of Earl while sitting under a tarp smoking a Perdomo 1991 Maduro. I had a few issues with tunneling since the humidity is 150% but it was a very enjoyable and memorable experience. I should see if my wife could actually make a badge.

One of the things I have always loved about our little slice of heaven here at the Cigar.com forum is the great quality of people that come through it. I also love how you guys always seem to have our back when the occasional troll comes around with no other purpose than to disrupt our community. You guys truly protect this place and for that I am grateful. Sadly, I see more and more of these folks coming around every week, visiting for the sole purpose of acting like total jackasses and trying to issue spoiler after spoiler with a holier than thou attitude. Not once have I really I ever seen any of long standing regulars refer to someone as "noob" or go out of their way to exclude people from the forum or participating. You guys really are the reason I do what I do. I tell people all the time that "cigar people really are the most generous and gracious people in the world" and I think that gets exemplified here in our forum more than anywhere else. God bless and thank you for your business, for your loyalty and for being all around standup folks.

Nicaragua Trip

Hypothetically, if I we ere able to put together a factory trip for the forum for february, would there be interest in a group going. Would be a Wednesday to Saturday and probably cost anywhere from $650 to $1100 per head depending on what part of the country folks fly from. Let me know roughly if something like this would be fun.
